What to Know Before You Go

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring on a multi-day rafting trip?

You’ll need river-friendly clothing, a water bottle, toiletries, and any personal medication. Morrisons provides all rafting equipment, tents, sleeping bags, waterproof bags, and all meals from lunch on Day 1 through the final lunch. Full packing lists and dry bags are provided. Don’t forget sunscreen, a flashlight, and comfortable evening wear for camps or lodges.

What should I pack for a single-day rafting trip?

Bring quick-dry clothing, water shoes (no flip flops), a water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, and a hat. A small dry bag is provided for your essentials. Morrisons supplies the gear and a delicious lunch is included for AM/PM and full-day trips.

What do I need to bring on a Rogue River hiking trip?

Bring breathable trail clothing, hiking boots that are broken in, a small daypack, water bottle, toiletries, sun protection, and river shoes. Morrisons provides waterproof overnight bags (shared), all meals, and lodging. Optional rafting legs require river-appropriate shoes.

Do I need trip insurance?

Yes, trip insurance is strongly recommended. All deposits and final payments are non-refundable. Insurance helps protect against cancellations due to illness, smoke, wildfires, or other uncontrollable events. Plans typically cost 7–10% of the trip price.

What's provided on rafting and hiking trips?

Morrisons provides rafting gear, dry bags, meals, transportation to/from the river, and lodging on supported trips. Sleeping gear is included on camping trips, and all rafting safety gear (PFDs, helmets for kayaks) is provided. Hiking trips also include support raft access and meal prep.

What class rapids are on the Rogue River?

The Rogue features Class II to Class IV rapids. Most trips navigate fun, splashy whitewater suitable for beginners and families, with more challenging sections like Rainie Falls on select multi-day itineraries. Safety is a top priority, and guides are highly trained.

Are kids allowed on trips?

Yes! Minimum ages vary by trip type and season. Rafting trips generally accept children 6+. All participants should be comfortable in water and capable of walking uneven terrain.

Will my phone work on the Rogue River?

No, cell service ends shortly after leaving Merlin. We encourage disconnecting and soaking in the experience. Phones can be brought as cameras, but a waterproof case is strongly recommended.

What are the lodges like on the river?

Wilderness lodges are rustic, cozy, and set in remote scenic locations. Rooms have flushing toilets, hot showers, and beds with linens. Meals are hearty and served family-style. Expect generators for power (off at 10 PM) and no hair appliances.
